Claire Bussell (Fully Certified)
Clare graduated from Bradford school of Physiotherapy in 1986 and has practised in both the NHS and private practice, in the musculoskeletal field, for 20 years. As a physiotherapist she has a sound knowledge in the structure and function of the body, and training in pathology and injury management.
She further developed these skills through her APPI Modified Pilates training and has become competant at analysing faulty movement patterns, due to pain and weakness, following injury/disease; and developing specific exercise programmes to restore normal function again. She qualified as a pilates instructor in 2003.
Clare has integrated the modified pilates exercise approach as a treatment tool with her clinical case load in private practice and is enjoying being a pilates instructor in Sutton/ Surrey. She has taught beginner and intermediate classes to the public for 9 years.
Pilates works by targeting the deep postural muscles, rebalancing the body and restoring the correct alignment as well as improving strength and increasing flexibility, it also helps to relieve unwanted stress and tension. It is an excellent from of rehabilitation for restoring balance and strength, allowing the body to move more freely, qualities which may have been lost due to pain, injury and poor posture.
Clare combines her unique skills as a physiotherapist and pilates instructor to develop a holistic exercise approach to benefit a wide range of clients in both the clinical and public class setting. She continues to update her skills to ensure you receive the best possible care.
