Modified Pilates Matwork - Level 1-Foundation
Matwork level one is the foundation course for all modified pilates teaching courses. This course introduces you to the pilates technique, relevant research, beginner level exercises and contra-indicated exercises. Cost: UK £250 AUS $450

Modified Pilates Matwork - Level 2
Matwork level two is a two day course where the intermediate and advanced levels of the exercises that you learnt in the matwork level 1 course are taught. Cost: UK £250 Australia $450

Modified Pilates Matwork - Class Instructor
Due to popular demand from our members the APPI has developed this course to give physiotherapists interested in conducting pilates matwork classes specialist training. Cost: UK: £250 Australia $450

Pilates & Theraband
Modified Pilates for Physiotherapists - Matwork theraband course is a special interest one-day course for instructors who have already completed Matwork Level 1. Cost: UK £110

Pilates & the Exercise Ball
‘Pilates & the Exercise Ball’ has been designed to apply the modified pilates matwork exercises to the Exercise Ball. Matwork Level One is the pre-requisite for this course. Cost: UK: £130

Ante and Post Natal Modified Pilates
This recently extended two day course aims to provide Physiotherapists who have attended the Matwork level one course with a greater theoretical understanding on the application of Modified Pilates during pregnancy. The physiological and biomechanical changes that occur during pregnancy, SPD, Diastasis recti, Post natal recovery and precautions and contra-indications to exercise in pregnancy will be presented. Ante and Post natal class plans will also be provided and specific modifications and exercises for teaching in this special population will be practiced. Cost: UK: £250

This one day course adds variety and challenge to your Pilates programmes by incorporating the Magic Circle and the Foam Roller. Matwork Level One is a pre-requisite. Cost: £110

Rehab Pilates - Spain
Matwork level one is the foundation course for all rehab pilates teaching courses. This course introduces you to the pilates technique, relevant research, beginner level exercises and contra-indicated exercises.

Modified Pilates equipment. Level 1 - Lumbo-pelvic stabilisation
This is the first in this series of four Modified Pilates equipment training courses. Choose to attend either one week-end at a time or to commit to all four modules at once. The features of the Pilates equipment will be explained in fine detail. Theory and practical workshops will review functional and surface anatomy of the spine, pelvis and hip. 32 movements for training lumbo-pelvic stabilisation on Pilates based equipment will be learnt through self-participation, practice teaching and observation. Discussions of clinical application of the Pilates movements will occur at the time of their teaching and during a a presenter lead workshop on exercise selection. Case studies will be reviewed and participants will have the chance to design and discuss their own treatment plans in readiness for teaching. Modified Pilates Equipment. Level 2 - Scapulo-thoracic stabilisation
This course builds upon the movements, understanding, cueing skills and exercise selection framework of level 1. Theory and practical workshops review functional and surface anatomy of the scapulo-thoracic region. 32 movements for training scapulo-thoracic stabilisation on reformer, cadillac, split pedal chair and barrels will be learnt through self-participation, practice teaching and observation. Discussions of clinical application of the Pilates movements will occur at the time of their teaching and during a presenter lead workshop. Case studies will be reviewed and designed by participants to prepare for clinical teaching. participants will have the chance to design and discuss their own treatment plans. A guided workshop on imagery for the neck and shoulders aims to further expand the communication and cueing skills of participants. Modified Pilates Equipment. Level 3 - Spinal Articluation & Stretching
Flexion, extension, rotation and lateral flexion based movements as well as combined movements and stretches for the reformer, Cadillac, split pedal chair and barrels are taught and practised. Participants will learn a further 24 movements through observation, self-practice and practice teaching. The clinical application of all movements will be discussed at their time of teaching and also through a presenter lead workshop in clinical application. Case studies will be reviewed and participants will have the chance to design and discuss their own treatment plans. Visual imagery for fluid spinal movement aims to assist participants to develop their cueing and facilitation skills. Cost: £430 for the individual week-end or £1520 for the four week-end series. Modified Pilates Equipment. Level 4 - Progressions and Planning
The final stage of the Modified Pilates equipment series provides therapists with 30 movements to enable patients and clients to progress to functional and high level rehabilitation using the Pilates equipment. These progressively more challenging exercises complete the rehabilitation programme. Workshops on posture, posture assessment, Pilates assessment and programme planning are designed to provide participants with skills in all aspects of teaching Pilates. Case studies comprising the entire range of movements will be independently designed and discussed. Participants will learn to selectively apply the full range of movements to specific populations by the end of the course.
